Will my website and email go offline during the transfer?
No. A domain transfer only moves who manages the registration — your existing DNS records travel with it, so your site and email keep serving without interruption from start to finish.
Do I really get a free extra year?
For most common TLDs, yes — the transfer adds a full year of registration on top of whatever time is left on your current term, at no extra cost. A few country-code and specialty extensions don't allow it; where that's the case we'll show you clearly before you pay.
What is an EPP code and where do I find it?
The EPP code (also called an authorisation or auth code) is a password that proves you own the domain. You request it from your current registrar's control panel or support team, and it's usually emailed to you within a few minutes.
How long does a domain transfer take?
Once you approve it, most transfers complete within a few days — the exact time depends on your current registrar and the TLD's own rules. You can keep using your domain normally the entire time.
Is there anything I need to do before I start?
Two quick things at your current registrar: unlock the domain and disable the transfer or privacy lock, then request your EPP code. Domains must also be older than 60 days and not have transferred in the last 60 days, which is a rule set by the registry, not by us.
What happens to my DNS records after the move?
They come across intact, and you manage them from our DNS panel afterwards. If you'd rather point the domain at our hosting, a free SSL certificate configures itself automatically once it's connected.
